Community Standards
Effective date: May 2026
Treasured Trappings is built by and for the Renaissance festival community. We want this to be a place where buying, selling, and trading garments feels safe, fair, and fun — the way the best corners of the Facebook BST groups already do. These standards exist to protect that.
1. Honest Listings
Your BST listings must accurately represent the item being sold or traded. This means:
- Photos must be owner photos of the actual item — stock photos, maker photos, or photos of a different item are not acceptable as the primary listing image
- Condition must reflect the true state of the item (NWT, EUC, GC, or FC as defined in the app)
- Style name, size, and fabric must be accurate to the best of your knowledge
- Disclose any flaws, alterations, repairs, or defects in the listing notes
- Disclose allergens — pets, smoke, scented products, or other sensitivities that may affect buyers
2. Authentic Items Only
Only list items you genuinely own and have the right to sell. You must not list:
- Counterfeit, replica, or unauthorized reproduction garments marketed as genuine
- Items you do not own or have not received
- Stolen property of any kind
If you are listing a garment inspired by a known style but made by a different maker, clearly state so in the listing.
3. Fair Pricing
You set your own prices, and we respect that. A few guidelines:
- The app may warn you if your asking price exceeds retail price, when price data is available — this is a soft reminder, not a hard block, but please be transparent with buyers when pricing above retail
- Price gouging — particularly on limited-edition or sold-out items during peak demand — damages the community. Use good judgment. Admins reserve the right to remove listings that they feel are inappropriate
- Do not artificially inflate prices to make a "discounted" trade look more favorable
4. Completing Transactions in Good Faith
When you agree to a deal — whether selling, trading, or both — follow through. The community runs on trust.
- If you commit to selling or trading an item, honor that commitment
- Ship items promptly after payment is confirmed, using the carrier and tracking method agreed upon
- Communicate proactively if there are delays
- Mark your listing as sold or traded once a deal is completed so others aren't waiting on an unavailable item
Ghosting buyers after accepting payment, or accepting multiple payments for the same item, is a serious violation and will result in account suspension.
5. Respectful Communication
Treat every community member the way you'd want to be treated at the faire. In messages, listings, and anywhere you interact on the platform:
- No harassment, threats, or intimidation
- No hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language of any kind
- No personal attacks over pricing, condition disagreements, or failed deals
- No unsolicited offers or lowballing after a seller has stated their price is firm
Negotiation is part of BST culture — disagreeing politely is fine. Harassment is not.
6. ISO (In Search Of) Conduct
ISO posts connect buyers with items they're actively looking for. Keep them genuine:
- Only create ISOs for items you are genuinely seeking and intend to purchase or trade for
- Update or cancel your ISO when you find what you're looking for — the app will prompt you, but please follow through
- Do not create bulk ISOs as a speculative or resale strategy
7. No Spam or Off-Topic Promotion
The Service is for personal wardrobe management and peer-to-peer BST activity among community members. You may not use it to:
- Advertise a commercial business, Etsy shop, or any for-profit operation not related to your own personal garments
- Mass-message users with unsolicited offers or promotions
- Post listings as a reseller purchasing items solely to flip them at marked-up prices
8. Privacy and Consent
- Do not share another user's personal information (address, phone number, email, payment details) outside of the transaction it was provided for
- Do not screenshot or re-share private messages without consent
- Respect that sellers choose what contact information to share — do not pressure users to communicate outside the app
9. Reporting Violations
If you encounter a listing, message, or user that violates these standards, use the in-app report tool. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. You can also reach us directly at support@treasuredtrappings.app.
Please report in good faith. False reports made to harass other users are themselves a violation of these standards.
10. Consequences
We take violations seriously and act in proportion to the severity and pattern of behavior:
- Warning — minor or first-time violations with no harm to other users
- Content removal — listings, messages, or photos that violate these standards
- Temporary suspension — repeated violations or a single serious violation
- Permanent ban — fraud, scamming other users, repeated harassment, or other severe violations
If your account is suspended or banned and you believe it was in error, contact us at support@treasuredtrappings.app to appeal.
A Note on the Community
This community has been self-organizing in Facebook groups for years and has developed its own norms and culture of trust. Treasured Trappings is built to support that — not replace it. Most of what's listed here is just writing down what the community already does naturally. Thank you for being part of it.
